Joe was a small business owner who had a born again experience at the age of 37 and received Jesus as Lord and Savior. He was called to ministry at the age of 43, and attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas where he earned a Certificate in Christian Ministry. He also attended the Faith-Based Counseling Institute and is now a Certified Restorative Therapist, as well as a Chaplain for First Responders in Temple, Texas. Joe served as an Associate Pastor at Keys Valley Baptist Church in Belton. At Keys Valley, his responsibilities included serving as the Minister of Discipleship and Interim Youth Minister until January 2003. He was then called to Dyess Grove Baptist Church in Temple, Texas to serve as Senior Pastor. In the spring of 2005 Joe and his wife Lisa received a vision from God to reach a unique people group. They have started an Authentic Faith Community in a gun club in Austin, Texas called Shooters Fellowship-Austin. This is the first of 15 Fellowships they hope to start in gun clubs throughout Texas. Joe and Lisa are a ministry team who share the passion of “equipping the people of God for every good work.” He has been married to Lisa for over 18 years, and has a step-son, B.J. who is a freshman at Howard Payne University.
